Q: Dear Dr. J.

I have been married for over 10 years. I feel that I am no longer attracted to my husband romantically what should I do?

-Confused

A: Dear Confused:

There is nothing sacred about the 7 yr itch. You can have a romantic or relationship itch during any year of a relationship. It sounds like you need to have a heart to heart, face to face discussion with your spouse. Lay your cards on the table and have a heart to heart discussion regarding your feelings and remember to be honest.

Let him know how you feel and tell him that you feel the romance is dying and tell him you want it back!

Be willing to do whatever it takes to make it work. Not only does it take hard work, but you both must be willing to give and take. Also, you need to plan some romantic getaways. Additionally you should seek professional marriage counseling. A good marriage counselor/life coach can assist you in rediscovering your friendship, marriage and romance. Remember, to be in a relationship takes hard work. Relationships are not disposable items.

Q: Dear Dr. J,
I spend over two hours at the border crossing. I enjoy coming to Mexico but I cannot stand the long lines. Help!
Impatient

A: Dear Impatient with long border waits,

You’re right, crossing the border can be a long and tedious process. I have several suggestions on how to ease the pain of border crossing. If you frequent Mexico on a regular basis, it might be worth your while to apply for a Sentry pass. You can do this online by going to the homeland security webpage. One the website they will instruct you on how to apply for your Sentry pass, tell you what the requirements are and tell you how long it will take to process it. You may also park on the United States side and walk over to the Mexican side. Once you enter into Mexico, you may take a taxi or bus into Playa, Rosarito or Ensenada. When you return to the border crossing, if the line is long, you can get on one of the border crossing busses that will take you to the front of the line for $5 and there is a special crossing lane that will take you through customs. I would like to also suggest that you check online to find out the best time to cross the border. If you go online you can receive information on how long the border wait is by driving or walking and then you can select the best time to cross that offers the least amount of waiting time. However, remember, at the border crossing, the wait is due to homeland security checking all the cars to make sure there is not any contraband or terrorist entering into the United States, so be patient and enjoy your trip!
