How to get there

First of all there is brand new toll road, from Tijuana to Tecate, eliminating the miles of winding two lane road that previously made the trip much more difficult than 27 kilometers should ever be! Now it is only 15 or 20 minutes from Otay on a marvelous four lane, limited access, divided crossing. Its present ending leaves two miles of winding two lane road before reaching the four lane Benito Juarez Boulevard, the street that goes from east to west through the city proper. From San Diego, take Freeway 5, 15 or 805 to Interestate 94 East (34 mi), then take 188 South (3 mi) and cross International Border at Tecate. It will take you approx. 1 hour drive.
